Bummer

I was completely stocked when I received my new MAC Book Pro yesterday.  I figured if the computer says it, it must be.  It was christmas as I realized the Fed-ex truck following me into the cul-de-sac was stopping at my house!  However now I am very frustrated at the moment.  I feel like I am back in 2nd grade and need a computers for dummies book.  I have no idea what I am doing.  The shortcuts are all different and going to school for 4 years to learn computer graphics I live by shortcuts.   No Cntl C, No Cntl V, nothing!!  The "trackpad" is possessed.  There is no right clicking involved, I don't know that there is a right button.  One doesn't really realize how many times they use the right button until there is no right button!   And honestly it took me 20 minutes to find internet explorer.  My roommate had to point that out for me or I still would have been lost today.  It's Safari for those who don't know.  Even typing is different - there is no delete - well there is a delete button but it is actually the backspace button.  I can not even try to describe the differences.  Everyone keeps telling me I will love it but I hope that love comes sooner rather than later!  I'll keep you posted.  AND Purdue is out of Photoshop for MAC - ARGH!!  so frustrating!  Hope everyone else is having a good day.  It will be a fairly quiet week on here as I move all my files from the other computer.  However I have 2 shoots this weekend I will be posting next week.

New Favorite Spot

So I love downtown. The architecture, the colors and the different textures along the canal. However 2 weekends ago a friend and I went to the IMA, Indianapolis Arts Museum, off of Michigan and 38th street and I am in love. First off I knew of the Love Sculpture and the Numbers in the Lawn but I had no idea there was this big beautiful Lilly home on the grounds or that fact that it was FREE! I have lived here for 5 years and had no clue. Nor did I know the actual musuem is FREE. You pay to see the newest exhibits but 90% of the building is all FREE. Yes we all know how much I love FREE. The only thing I didn't love is how in an adult Museum you can't touch anything. Drove me crazy to not be able to touch it all. Must be why I love the Children's Museum and must be why it isn't free! :) The grounds are just as beautiful as the buildings and the exhibits within. There were so many beautiful spots for engagement pictures I was in heaven. I can't wait for my family's next trip up.

KELSEY (and KYLIE) part 2

Of course at Kelsey's 1 yr we had to take some pictures of her with her big sister Kylie. These two girls could not be more different. From the looks to the personality. It is going to be so fun to watch these two grow up together. Kylie turned 5 in March, making her and Kelsey similar to me and my sister and the differences between two girls four years apart could not be more alike. Sorry Kylie but I will most likely be siding with Kelsey! The one big difference is I also had a brother 21 months younger than me...hmmm...now that would be interesting! hehe :)
So cute...could be the brown and pink colors that I love! ;)Prime examples of the above stated attitudes! :)And I promise I didn't pinch her here.
She was just upset that Jason was taking the picture and not me!This one makes me want to be outside with my shoes off!!

KELSEY part 1

Sorry I didn't get these pictures posted last night. This little girl is so stinkin' cute and with enough attitude you'd think I had taught her myself! Nope, now that I think about it I am pretty certain I know where she got the feistiness from! :)
Again I am loving this crisp black and white. I think I will call this one the beach shot. Although we were on a concrete stage I like to picture myself walking along the shore getting this shot. Tell me it doesn't look like that!!?! Crazy huh?

Healey/Todd

This weekend I did a shoot for 3 cousins. Hopefully this will be their grandma's best mother's day gift ever!
The oldest and by far the best model I 've had! She is adorable and such a good leader. Introducing Miss LEXI...Her younger sister the rambunctious GRACE...
And the youngest of the three TREVOR...
Getting a group shot of the three of them was, let's just say, a little challenging. ;) I seriously had a great time though. These kids are awesome. I am learning as I go a few combat tactics; marshmallows work wonders, distraction with fake overhead airplanes will get a 2 year old every time and some Photoshop magic can't hurt!

KELSEY 1 yr

Happy belated birthday...Kelsey celebrated her first birthday on Sunday. This sequence cracked everyone up...I guess it was just easier! HAHAAnd another cake of cupcakes!! Best invention ever.
We took Kelsey and her sister Kylie's pictures that afternoon as well. I will have those posted later this week! My husband will be out of town the end of the week so I should be able to get a lot of work done!

Ocean front property for SALE

So growing up in and living in the Midwest all my life I have never before experienced an earthquake. When asked this morning if I think it could be the end of the world I had no idea but was glad to know that if it was I was able to sleep right through it!! However right after I got to work this morning I was startled by another tremble. I did what any sane human being would do; I freaked out and ran outside (yeah I now know that wasn't the smartest either) and was greeted by my co-worker who also felt it. We got on the subject of fault lines and how we both think the coast of California will be gone in our lifetime; that is if it our lifetime last us past today. But he was explaining what I think is a genius idea. People are buying land along the east side of one of the major fault lines that runs through Nevada, Colorado and up through Washington. Right now these properties are going for cheap as they are just unusable dessert land but seriously in 200 years could be a great ocean front investment. :)

EMMA part 1

I am sure each kid I photograph will be the cutest kid ever. However Emma gets the rights to that title for now!!
I am loving the look of this one.
That is it for tonight. I am exhausted. Check back tomorrow for part 2. Becca, I hope you love them so far. We got more smiles than we thought!!

Love this...

I took these last night from my back deck. Now if I can just get the clouds to look like this tomorrow for Emma's 1 yr I will be good to go!! I hope to have her pictures up before the weekend. Keep checking back. And no these are not straight out of the camera but that is what I love. Exaggerated colors and contrast. You will begin to notice this with my pictures. I love the bluest of skies and the greenest grasses and therefore can not wait for summer to be here!

Favorite shot...

I know I promised my favorite shot from Saturday. I noticed this shadow and found it just memorizing. And the shot that created the one above.Do you like the larger format of picture?

What a whirlwind weekend

This weekend came and went before I had time to breathe for a second. I had the awesome opportunity of shooting my first event for First Assembly of God Church in Lafayette, Indiana. As I told my sister-in-law I could feel the Lord's presence and I have to tell you this was just the dance recital! When asked last night where my camera was I had to tell everyone that I had taken 100 too many pictures the day before but I couldn't help it, the energy was high and the drama never ending. I have to admit though that since it was so dark I bumped up the ISO and unfortunately for me a little too high. The pictures are very noisy but I have been able to mess with a few of them. I am still learning! Thank you to First Assembly for allowing me this learning opportunity.
These are just a few. Like I said I feel like I am having to edit these more than I would have liked. And I am realizing I have quite a few with Jesus...not every day does one have the opportunity to photograph the man himself! I am saving my favorite one for a post tomorrow. You will want to come back. Enjoy!
